The youth in KAMY are given the trust in coordinating together with critical forest community groups that have been protecting the last green lungs in Klang Valley for years, now proved more crucial in the warming climate and high urban population.
We will be working closely with Friends of Bukit Kiara; the first project will consist of carbon accounting (using scientific methodologies - eg. remote sensing ) of the Taman Rimba Kiara to create a blueprint for carbon stock inventory of urban forests— in other words, using evidence-based approach to evaluate forest health and fortify the case for protection.
